Hush (2016) Review
Looking for a great horror movie to watch on Netflix tonight? Do yourself a favor and check out Mike Flanagan's HUSH.
HUSH is about a woman who is both deaf and mute. She soon becomes the victim of a home invasion and must fight for her survival. It's a simple, but fascinating and effective concept that has the audience thinking, "What would I do?" HUSH is masterfully shot and superbly acted. The director, Mike Flanagan (Oculus) manages to keep audiences on the edge of their seats from start to finish, despite the movie only takes place in one setting. There is very little dialogue in the movie, and the sound effects (and at times the lack thereof) make the movie much more intense. Netflix bought HUSH before it even premiered at SXSW in 2016. HUSH is intense, creative and will keep you glued to the screen for its entire 81 minutes, except for when you feel compelled to look over your shoulder just to make sure the door is locked in your own home.
